What Customers Say About Woodees IESW101B Inner-ear Stereo Earphone:

But unlike the Sleek Audio's, the Woodees were a perfect seal right out of the box and with a welcome comfort that simply made you want to keep them where they seemed to belong--in your ears. I compared these to some top-selling headphones in the $20 range, and the Woodees are easily good enough to convince any careful listener to spend the extra twenty. Whether you're attracted to these phones because of the wood or coming upon them accidentally, you've arrived at the right place. I see that some reviewers have questioned the durability of the phones, which are noticeably larger than most earphones. The warmth and richness of the human voice is suddenly all the dearer because of the closeness and centeredness of the sound. They end up with the treadmills and Woodees; I settle for more books (I only wish a few jazz CDs would be offered). Since it's bass that preoccupies so many users and reviewers of earphones, let me assure you that the bass of the Woodees is not artificially-enhanced, "boomy" bass in the lower mid-range.

The bass has the resonance of a large wooden cabinet in a component high fidelity system--the depth, the bottomless yet palpable richness of the sound, if not due in great measure to the wood, is at the very least testimony to the suggestive powers of wood to the mind, which in turn telegraphs the message to the human ear. The silicone cover has a slightly airy, cushiony feel that makes you forget them and concentrate on the music, which yields heretofore unsuspected details and nuances--almost like Cole Porter listening to his house in the still of the night and becoming inspired--by the faucet, the clock, the rain--to write "Night and Day."If there's a caveat, it certainly can't be about the audio quality of these miniature concert halls. To be safe, it might not be a bad idea to pick up a pair of single-digit phones for rough and tumble action (including sleeping in bed). But for serious listening, it's highly unlikely any careful listener will do any better at under a hundred, and perhaps even more. Unfortunately, the pricey, most-desired stuff always goes to the members with the hawk eyes, perfect timing and quick fingers. I have a pair of Sleek Audio wood phones, and the Woodees easily surpass them. The wood isn't heavy. Nevertheless, I'm indebted to the Vine program for making me aware of these earphones, which subsequently became a Valentine's Day gift.

Put these on, and you'll feel less like you're entering the world of technology than returning to a world of nature.[As a member of the Amazon Vine program I'm eligible to receive without charge items such as the Woodees. The high end--especially the crisp brushwork and lingering ring of the ride cymbal--is suggestive of catching a jazz combo or chamber music ensemble in a coffee house made of maple. It's the genuine article, a thrilling and revealing, "complex" sound practically guaranteed to shatter preconceptions of the limitations of earphones compared to full-sized headphones.

To be fair, the Sleek Audio's, which allow for numerous adjustments that I haven't experimented with, including the insertion of metal pieces for "tuning" them to the individual's tastes. The phones have clearly earned the five-star rating]. So my positive review is in no way related to a desire to "pay back" Amazon or Woodees for their generosity.

You don't have to be into natural, organic products to appreciate the excellence of the sound these are capable of putting out. I haven't quite worked up the nerve to compare them to my personal standard of reference, the Sony MDR-EX700LP's, because I'm almost fearful of having to swallow some earlier superlatives. As for the "bulky" appearance, don't be misled.

Check out these headphones. I am a professional sound engineer and was looking for a pair of workout headphones. However, if your idea of audio clarity and high fidelity is lots of bass, than these are not for you. They are far nicer than the $30-100 consumer grade Sony, Sennheiser, and Skull Candy headphones on the market especially when it comes to overall clarity on mid high and high frequencies. If you are seeking audio clarity with very nice, balanced, and clear highs, mids, and lows. these headphones are for you. I am very picky about how my headphones sound and own several pairs of more professional in ear headphones and over ear studio headphones including Sennheiser HD280PR, Beyerdynamics DT770, AKG K240S, and Shure SC3 and must say, that I was blown away by these little guys.

They range from inexpensive JVC's and Philips to Shure and Sennheiser for IEM's and have Sennheiser and Denon headphones, including one pair of noise canceling of each type. They are not as efficient as the Sennheisers but they sound a little more equal across the sound spectrum.I also find these to be very comfortable for a longer period of time.

I am not sure what is causing this but these are not a good choice if you are active while you use them. For the price, they are excellent IEM's and i have been pleased with them.as long as I stay in one place. I usually require a smaller size but these fit better with the larger tips and I did not push them in as far as others to get a nice seal and correct tone.My only complaint about these is the cord-thump.

I have not had any issues with the tips slipping off but I did take several passes thru all the sizes before I found the ones I like the best. Even sitting at my desk, I can hear them bouncing against my chest if I change positions or lean back.

I have several types of headphones and IEM's. Compared to my other IEM's, these have a warm, balanced sound.

It is far more severe than any other set of headphones I have ever used.

i have to say in my findings with these earphones, bass is also very crisp and open sounding just as the other ranges. you cannot find a better sound from any earphone in this price range. this said music like dance and techno do not sound as good as with other types of earphones. These earphones are by far worth more than the price. that said they don't sound bad, it's just that you could get a better sounding earphone for your money if that is what you're interested in listening too.

I had my doubts that this would work the same on a much smaller scale, but inside the earphones i have experienced truly exceptional sound. the only other thing i should point out is that while all agree mid to high range sounds are fantastic, there is a bit of controversy over the bass levels amplified using a wood housing. however, while the bass sounds fine, there is a bit of a faded sensation while played at high volumes matching a higher note. however, if you are interested in listening to genre's such as soul, funk, classic rock, jazz, blues, metal, etc. If you are an audiophile you will know that wood housed speakers amplify a much cleaner and open sound.

the build quality is more than i expected, there are multiple sizes of foam covers, and while the sound is superb, they are not the most comfortable earphones i own, yet they are still very comfortable and you could easily walk around with these in you ears all day. if that is the majority of what you will be listening too, i suggest you find a different pair of earphones.

But I would say that any $60 pair of earbuds are bad for exercising anyway. They are classy-looking and they sound fantastic. But if you're just looking for a new set of earbuds for working out, you should probably look elsewhere. Others have complained that that makes these bad earbuds for exercising. The construction quality is magnificent save for one area, which I will get to shortly. That's a job much better suited to a cheaper earbud rather than these audiophile buds. The Woodees easily bested them all.

I compared them directly to whatever headphones I had lying around, which included a few sets of earbuds and a pair of over-the-ear headphones (the kind that go behind your head). I find that bringing them up to full power is dangerous, but that's a good thing in my book.Really, there's not much else I can say that others haven't already said. It makes for quite a sound. There is not a doubt that they are leagues above your typical $10 earbuds in both construction quality and sound production quality. But for a price tag that's 6x what you would pay for the stock iPod earbuds or similar, purchasing these means you really have to be somewhat of an audiophile or you just have money to burn and you want to wear cool-looking and distinct earbuds.Having owned both the ipod-style earbuds that loosely hang in your ear and the rubber-fitting ones like these Woodees, I can say with certainty that these are the best earbuds I've ever owned. But, as has been said in many other reviews, the part where the wire meets the earbud is too hard or something because it picks up quite a bit of noise when touching the wire or when it slaps against your chest.

So, I don't fault the Woodees for that. In addition to the earbuds, you get a velvet bag to store them in and a set of additional silicon buds for different ear sizes. So, like I said, if you got the money to burn or are a serious audiophile, these are definitely worth considering. I really like these Woodees. The stereo connector is 24k gold and the earbuds themselves have a hollowed wooden resonance chamber that's wrapped in some kind of metal. You can easily drown out the wire noise by making them louder. These are certainly quite powerful.
